Take #2: Data privacy and innovation

Due to a technical issue, we couldn’t have a call in October. That is why we are moving the proposed topic to our November event.

A recent article in TechXplore titled β€œAI innovation drops under EU data regulations, researcher says” (https://techxplore.com/news/2025-10-ai-eu.html) got me thinking about why this connection is and whether there is more to it?

Reading into the topic, it appears there is more to the story.

What is your opinion?

Share your insights in our online event on 25th November 2025 at 16:00 UTC.

How to participate in data privacy legislation

How often do you engage with policy makers on data privacy issues? Have you ever wanted to input into the decision making? How go about it though?
Here is one example:

An article in the American Bankers Association titled “House committee seeks input on data privacy, possible legislation” caught my attention since it highlights that the possibility to help shape what data privacy will look like going forward:

Interested members of the public may send their comments and answers to the questions below by August 28, 2025, toΒ fsc119@mail.house.gov.

You can find the house committee press release here: https://financialservices.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=410833

There you have it. Yes, you can participate and shape policy if you are a member of the interested public. In this case, you have until 28th August to get your voice heard.

How and why to de-googlify

Are you still using Google products? Microsoft? Facebook?

I can’t blame you. Once you are sucked into the vortex of Big Tech, it is hard to escape the pull.

The good news is that there are ways of getting out and reclaiming (at least some) data privacy.

Join us for our get together to talk about some of the issues, ways out and reasons why data privacy is more necessary now than ever before.

Join our next online event on 22nd July 2025 at 16:00 UTC.

Privacy Policies – friend or foe?

Privacy policies are everywhere – but who is actually reading them? And if you are reading them, do you actually understand them? If yes, do you agree with them?

In May, we will talk about privacy policies, their actual purpose and what they should tell us as a very minimum.

We will also highlight the good, the bad and the ugly examples out there. This one will be entertaining.
